My 22 year old son just tried. I wish he had waited for me to go with him. I was able to teach his older sister easily.

Yes. I have driven several manual transmissions. The only one I had problems with was in the UK. I kept grabbing the knob to open the window instead of the gearshift. (No problem driving on the left side, but then I'm a southpaw, just shifting.)

A manual shift is nice on icy roads from my experience compared to an automatic. I find it much easier to control.

Yes. My eldest sister taught me on her Datsun 240Z in the seventies. Good thing because my husband's truck was manual transmission.

Yes and I prefer it.I learned to drive a stick when I learned to drive. We lived out in the country and we all learned to drive farm machinery out in a big field. After we got experience on the farm machinery we were allowed to drive cars up and down a long driveway for practice.

I prefer driving a m/t.
On my last cross country trip, my starter motor died, so at least I was able to push start the car and kept going instead of being stuck in the middle of no where.
You can't do that with an a/t.
I may consider a CVT in the future.
