If I had my way, we'd already have vehicles on the road that would get 70 to 250 mpg and even some of the V8's, trucks, SUVs, etc., would get 35 to 40 mpg or more, but they don't want that to happen, which is why it's not happening except privately among individuals.

"better fuel economy is part of the equation." That is true and yet NOT true. Better fuel economy overall from the fact that there are more vehicles on the road that get 25 to 50 mpg, but there is no real improvement in fuel economy of individual vehicles and we had better mileage out of vehicles from the late 1970's to around 2003 when we had some that were getting 52 5o 58 mpg. We don't have any of those on the road from the factories now, and about 52 mpg is the best, unless you include the recently released Elio or some other similar alternatives. The one to three million of us who modify and improve the fuel economy of vehicles by 10 to 30% is a more significant factor as well as the fact that 100 million+ can no longer afford a vehicle, insurance, gas, etc., and that number grows every year. It's more likely closer to 120 million now for that matter.

Big congratulations on posting prices for over six years, helping to save money on gas. That is dedication. Hope that you enjoyed a wonderful Christmas and that you have a very Happy New Year. Lets be east coast buddies. Thanks. Shep

Thank you! Unfortunately I slipped recently and forgot to post one day, so I lost my stripes again. It's okay...it was going to happen anyway soon since I'll be offline for a couple of weeks. Have a great holiday!

A BIG CONGRATS on reaching 2,000 consecutive days! Truly awesome! Wow, another milestone has arrived! : ) Keep leading the way for others to follow in GasBuddyland as you have been doing! You've got a way to go to get to the top, but you can do it, you're doing great! Only 5 GBs are at 4,000 consecutive days or more! Clicking on news article links, which are the easiest points here on GasBuddy, when you can't or didn't post gas prices before midnight will save your consecutive days! : ) Smartphones and tablets really help GasBuddies to post everyday! I always have my smartphones and tablets with me 24/7 to update gas prices! Remember, every day GBs lose their consecutive days, many with big numbers, the #1 reason, "oops, I just forgot!" :( Keep going, don't stop now, it's not time to retire like all those that gave up over the past 13+ years! Thanks buddy for your 6+ years of dedication! Have a nice week! Ron

Teenitup, et al. seem to be having a melt down on the "Fracking Growth Moves Too Rapidly for Environmental Caution" article. Guess all those *SH*TROLL* lies are taking their toll on the GB TROLL population. My links to the EPA site showing the Halliburton Loophole changes to the Clean Drinking Water Act always sets off hysteria among the misinformation SHILL patrol. What sort of low life takes a job lying to the public about serious health threats? I would still like to know if the rumors are true that drpeppertx and teenitup used to SHILL for the TOBACCO industry back in their day of poisoning the public for profits ? Ah well. We know that we have legitimate hard science & facts supporting US on solid ground. Enjoy the rest of your weekend ;0}
