Howdy Tekkersmom57, I noted your question about gas prices, here's how to predict. I think you are confusing oil prices with gasoline futures prices. Take a look at RBOB futures prices. When you find that price add your local, state and federal taxes plus the small percentage of profit to the retailer and you'll have a very good predictor of the price you'll pay in the next few weeks. For instance, the current price for RBOB gasoline May 14 contract is $3.09. Add $0.47 for Ohio state tax and federal taxes and add $0.15 for retail profit and you'll be at $3.71. I just compared that with Ohio's average price today of $3.708 on GB.

I hate to tell you kid, but if you have an extra gas can or two or more, you MIGHT want to fill them up if you can get gas at a discount price, or when you DO get a discount. We're up by 32 cents a gallon at quite a number of stations since last Sunday, and we've had the 2nd round of increases. The third round is coming. I'm glad some of my friends bought 20 to 80 extra gallons when they did. Even at 20 cents a gallon, that's a savings of $4 to $16, and almost all of them saved much more than that. Even an extra 10 gallons saved them another $5, and that extra didn't last long. I'll send you a private message sometime soon, so look to your inbox.

If you can find the money to do so, stock up on extra toiletries that will last, extra toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, etc. Everything that say doesn't get bad with time, or at least during the next five to 10 years or longer. Even salt will hold. Buy enough now, have it for later. My parents bought a 20 year plus supply when I was 15. They did the smart thing. Had it all ahead of time and saved a bunch doing so. Buy it on sale, especially use it for gas or other discounts as you can.

I know Mom, I looked at your area, just like I do with most others. I don't envy you. With either party in power, Obama, Bush, Gingrich, Clinton [Hillary or Bill], no matter who, it's only going to be worse. They don't work for us the people, never believe their lies. Quite a few people that supported Obama or Bush or even Gingrich or Clinton are waking up. More will, just not enough. Have a great day and week ahead. Once again, save when and where you can. I take advantage of every good gas discount, grocery discount, etc., that I can. Got gas for a local buddy for $1.93 a gallon about 10 days ago.

Just wait until the gas tax is raised in the 12 to 15 additional states that are planning to raise it. Just wait until the carbon credit trading really get's going! Just wait until they raise the gas tax on the Federal lever by another 15 to 35 cents a gallon! Just wait if they ship MORE oil by rail and export more of it out of OUR needs or if they export more gas OUT OF OUR needs. They already import about twice as much as they export, so what do you think that does? Make it cheaper? It's going to be a lot worse. Save what you can.

"They just can't WAIT to raise prices and it is done on every little whim!" Mom, you just don't know! Plus, most likely we’re all going up on gas prices. We had just started a downward trend here, but that’s over now. We had three or four stations down to $3.13 a gallon, now they're back up to $3.33 and $3.35 a gallon. One station in Miami is already $3.89 a gallon. I'd get gassed up now as it's going up more. I wish I could have told everyone yesterday, but I couldn't make it online other than to post prices in the morning. Sorry. You’ll see prices 15 to 35 cents a gallon higher there in your area soon. They won’t let it drop far when it does.
