Thanks for the note. Calgary gets Chinook weather--perhaps your sister has told you about them. Air from the west coast climbs over the mountains as it heads east, and most of the moisture drain from it. Once it comes down on the Calgary side, it is warmer & usually dry. They can get a foot of snow one day, followed by a week of above 0 weather the next. They can also get the bitter weather, just like us!! Enjoy your temps when you get them!! Have a good one.

So true! Although I'm a 'very white guy' I grew up with parents who had been everywhere and knew everybody. I generally find I can dislike...or like...enough people on their own individual merits or lack of 'em, without putting up any more barriers. Cheers!

I live in the Bay Area, and am concerned about radiation from Japan. I'm putting my faith in non-profits right now to inform us when the levels become unsafe in fish. It's been about a year form me since reading articles about fish being tested and still safe to consume. Some scientists stated that it may take about two years for the levels to reach levels of concern. However, I have also seen articles and pictures about polar bears and seals getting open sores as a result of the radiation. It may have migrated over sooner than they thought. I think it's time to start looking for sustainably raised farmed fish. What are your thoughts?

Can you give me a link where such is happening? There are threads where many members post short responses to get points.

FYI - Your 2000 Toyota Rav4 has had 2 recalls, one for the parking lock rod and the second for the front disc brake rotor. Take your car into the Toyota dealership and they will fix both recalls for free. You can verify my post at safercar.org. I'm a fan of Toyota, but nobody's perfect.

This book is by a long-time friend of mine and a Three Mile Island survivor. If you're pro-nuke, don't read it, but if you have an open mind, check it out: " Yes, I Glow in the Dark! One Mile from Three Mile Island to Fukushima and Beyond."
