We have a small house 4 floors 1200 sq ft of living space and about 1200 more of storage space in the attic and basement. It is old but insulated fairly well for an oldie. But we did the air pressurization and leakage test and I was kind of shocked how leaky the house was. I need to go around and plug them up. We paid 207 for January sometimes Feb and or March can be worse but it is usually Jan that is the worst. Got an idea for a device to clear the roof using a shop vac for air pressure and some Pvc piping. Let you visualize that. Wifey says we need to go shopping or we don't eat anymore so that is what I will be doing until tonight.

We have like nothing since the 24th and we got more snow last night and more predicted for Monday and also cold temps for the next week or so. Snow is not coming off any time soon without some removal.

Yeah we ran it up during the good months last year and we got 400 kwhours in March. That is the turnaround month. January and February were real bad last year and if I don't clear these panels soon Feb. will be a repeat of last year.

I'll look into it.

We are still covered too much to do today from the trip to deal with the panels maybe tomorrow. Solar City has not had a good solution to the problem yet. got the January elec. bill today still have $145. in credit and we should have a surplus in March unless the rest of the winter is epic. Now to work on the gas bill......

I understand your opinion on this subject and I respect it, but I am not sold on it. Call me late to the party, I just want to make sure for myself. Just don't call me late for dinner.

Sorry that I may disagree with you about solar power, but if I wanted to use the power from the sun, I would move back to Florida. I am not sold on solar panels because of the true costs involved in the manufacturing process and that government subsidies are involved. I don't like my tax dollars used for a product that still harms the environment. The same is said for hybrid cars. They are said to be more harmful to the environment than an SUV. Why you ask? It is because of the energy expended on producing said vehicle and when the battery wears down, the damage caused to the environment by these batteries that go to the garbage and are not recyclable materials.

Avalanches have damaged my cars even with anti-avalanche device from Solar City. I have spoken with them about this and may remove them as it stops an avalanche to a point and then the avalanche is much bigger.

Yes, I have LED bulbs, HE HVAC (installed last year to replace electric heating) now. I like technology if it is proven to give enough benefits.

That was the prices I heard a several years ago. You are right. It will be cheaper by now, but also different by areas. Anyway, I'm not interested in solar system because my house has small daylight hours due to a hill behind. Thanks for your point.
