Parking a car in NYC is bloodsport anything that gives a real advantage will be quickly adopted. Usually you can find one on the street but it can take awhile and you can never tell when you will be towed away. I don't drive into NYC anymore because of this.

One of the advantages of living in a small rural town is not having to worry about a parking spot. I feel for those that have this problem however.

Better to just avoid New York entirely. You'll save huge amounts of money and headaches.

ampinoy13, I always thought that most people in NY took cabs or the subway.
I drove through NY once. Upped my life insurance after that experience. Talk about getting in touch with your mortality!!!!

If your app tells you there's no parking on a certain street, you're still going to drive around.
Interesting technology, though.

Hi Tech parking WOW. We don't have that as a problem here you might have to walk a ways, but a lot of our parking is free.

How about people in NYC not driving. I lived in Manhattan many years ago and, even then, finding a parking space was often not an option. Plus the subway is a GREAT way to get from point "A" to point "B".
I did not have a car when I lived there. I had no problem in getting anywhere in the four main boroughs. If I needed to go to the fifth borough, Staten Island, I simply took the subway to the south end of Manhattan and got on the ferry.
