I would NEVER buy a Toyota. I truly would think that driving a vehicle that suddenly accelerates is a very scary experience.

I've always bought only American cars. I bought only American products until it became impossible to find everything you need that was American made!

Of course they hid it, and no, I don't believe there's a government agenda against Toyota, remember most of the Toyotas sold here in the U.S. are made here in the U.S.

Look, I'm no fan of the way Toyota has handled this whole thing, but do you ever recall the Feds going after GM with such vigor? I'm beginning to wonder if there isn't an agenda here to boost "Government Motors"...

It is a long way from allegation to verdict. The number of complaints for acceleration were in the thousandths of one per cent, and Toyota investgated them and tried to fix them. If Toyota's conclusion was wrong, it doesn't make the carmaker criminally liable.

Orange County should be awarded the first to pile-on Toyota award. It seems to me that the number of new Toyotas sold in Orange County should be the considered maximum limitation of their suit. I am no fan of defect ridden cars, but I believe the pile-on effect is damaging to the car industry.

As I suspected this is turning into a big, big serious problem for Toyota. If this Orange County D.A. proves his case it will really be a big financial blow to Toyota. I'm sure Obama Motors would like to see a little competition eliminated and they may get their wish, with a little help from their friends.

Of course they did, all the automakers do this. If the cost of lawsuits is less than fixing the problem, go with the payouts instead. Whatever costs less.

I keep seeing the adds about how loyal people keep saying they will buy another one. How much is Toyota charging them, a dollar for the endorsement?

TPlayer...No its because hussien needed the competition out of the way to make government motors look better. As has been mentioned in other posts, why Toyota and not Ford, Subaru, Nissan, etc. when they had thier recalls. Toyota posed a bigger threat to GM.
