This seems a lot less intrusive than all the personal information that people divulge about themselves via social networking.

More ways for this Administration to get its GM auto company to make more profitt off the average guys by adding about $1500 to the price of new auto in 2015. It will average about $3500 for new autos with the new CAFE standards pushed on us by the Obama Socialist machine. Its only to help his UAW UNION buddies.

Not necessary and an overreach. Plus it'll just make them more expensive. How often would it be truly beneficial? 99.999% of the time, it would be useless, but everyone will pay for it.

Right, the car owner should be able to disable it if he/she wants too.
WITHOUT suffering increased insurance premiums or other penalties.

Another way for the gov't to cut spending? They no longer have to pay for the equipment or time to put GPS trackers on our cars. The manufacturer will do it for them and we get to pay for it!

Since the black box belongs to me, that means I can disconnect it and keep it in my garage, right?

The info contained in the black box can be critical in certain situations.

What waste of another $100 per new car, and then the government will use them in civil trails, an on board GPS tracker too.

Even Germany doesn't allow this.
