Time to dump DSL and get into the 21st century Hemond! FiOS is the way to go!

Perhaps consider having a spare DSL modem on hand in case your 'hot' running modem burns out. I'm using a Westell 6100 DSL modem supplied by Verizon. Its been on nonstop for 6 years now. Runs slightly lukewarm.

I keep a spare on hand plus another I inherited somewhere. Just in case. You know the thing will fail just when you need it most.

Al those DSL boxes run hot. Don't out your router on top of one! Don't put it in a box or confined space.
