That's coming sooner than we thought; soon the series will end; and development of next year's powerplants will hit the track. Let's see how their mileage and reliability perform; they value both mileage and speed there.

I'd like to be perfectly FRANK; and you were Frank B$ me. I wonder what kind of tea that Indian young woman had before she stumped Pres. B O B4 the world's TV coverage. I can't spell Djarleeing(but then I have trouble understanding Eastern Asian customer service phone bank operators, too) I'm certainly not xenophobic; but I'd better get to work on my 4N languages FRANKly. :)

LeftLane1, A good user name I might add.

I think this will cause issues at first, failures. Ethanol: Food is not fuel, Mileage is Lower with E10 & E15, engine wear is slightly more too.

NASCAR can use E15 in racecars in 2011, I could care less! I do not want to use E15, E10, E5, E85, E100 in my vehicles or small engines.

Been a NASCAR "groupie" for 40+years. Still wonder why they don't just make 'em run on street pumped gas with 5 liter "motors"? It'll slow 'em down without all those other silly gadgets. Let 'em "run whatcha brung".

The one thing Brian France didn't say was that American ethanol destroys engines. They ask "Why the switch?" The answer is that is has been shoved down their throats just like it has everyone elses throat by our Federal Government.

Easy for them to update any fuel system parts they need to, and it's not like they need anything to last 20 years, more like 20 weeks, or 20 days. Kind of hard for us to update a fuel system.

"Do race cars use gasoline like normal cars do or do they use something else?" 01 April 2000. It depends on the type of race car you are talking about. For example:
•NASCAR engines burn 110-octane leaded gasoline. •Indy cars burn pure methanol (a.k.a. wood alcohol, CH3OH). •Top Fuel dragsters and funny cars burn nitromethane (CH3NO2). Each of these fuels has advantages and disadvantages. For example, the methanol fuel used in Indy cars has the advantage that it can run at extremely high compression ratios (meaning more power -- see How Car Engines Work for details). Methanol also has a nice safety feature -- you can extinguish a methanol fire with water. 110-octane gasoline also handles high compression well. Nitromethane is basically a liquid explosive and contains a great deal of energy per unit volume (more than twice that of gasoline). "

The last sentence of the article says,
"Bottom line? Good for NASCAR, but embracing the fuel at a retail pump is different."
Something to think about.

Nascar uses a LOT of gas, between the race cars and all the spectators that drive hundreds of miles to get there.Gas at 4.00 this summer will help slow down this excessive use of fuel

Nascar' vehicles should be able to be retuned to function on E15. Try doing that with your family car and see how much that is.

IF an engine is made for 15%, it'll be fine. Look at all the E-85 Flex-Fuel vehicles on the roads. But, most cars were designed for 10%.

So NASCAR Techs can rebuild cars of poor folks who bought new cars in 2007 that will not run on E15 without getting 15 MPG on HWY not 30 that I get now.
Police now have new robbers. Restaurants that have their fenced in barrels of grease from the fryers, now have trucks pullin up & sucking out their profits for selling it to companies who turn it into biofuel. A restarant in CLE captured the men, license number, name of company who hired them to steal oil from restaurants. So now all restaurants have this system & security installed also.

Just because Nascar will be using it, doesn't mean it is good for us. They change their engines and re-build them all the time.

AH NASCAR .... 5 hours of left turn - left turn and guess what? . Another left turn! .. With drivers whining "The car is loose or the car is tight" followed by "an air pressure or track bar adjustment" It just don't get any better than that !!!
