My gosh ... seven or eight "grades" of fuel at one station? My head hurts. I'll just pump "regular", pay cash, and be outa there

I've also seen diesel prices posted at stations that do not carry diesel.

I see people post diesel prices at stations that don't sell diesel fairly often.

In today's society, what would you expect? I'm surprised there isn't more of it going on.

oceanside posted a good reply... but it was a run-on; could have used some paragraph spacing
some people don't know where the FAQs section is...
look for the HELP link on the blue bar

We have had the problem of inaccurate postings here. Including people posting prices for grades which are not sold at that station.

oh no, that NEVER happens! Everyone is PERFECT!
Just post the correct, Standard CASH PRICE FOR THE GAS/DIESEL.
& Post the OTHER PRICES- SUCH AS Credit or other fuels- such as SUNOCO's ULTRA 93 (4 or 5 Grades) & Stations with 5+ Grades like Many around here, Joe's Gas in an area near me (Lakeville, MA) has 87, 88, 89, 90, 91, 92, 93, Diesel, Kerosene, Home Heating Oil, Propane & MORE! ALL AT THE PUMPS! So post the CASH PRICES in the Boxes they BELONG! & Everything else that fits in the Comment box. Such as "Credit is 8¢+" or "Save 30¢ w carwash" or what I do a lot at the 4-7+ Grade Stations is list the CASH PRICE for Regular 87, Mid-Grade 89 & Premium 91 (if they have this mabny Grades, otherwise Premium is 93 here) & then in comments I write: "87-$3.00 88-$3.05 89-$3.10 90-$3.15 91-$3.20 92-$3.30 93-$3.33", Thankfully it's usually just listing 4 or 5 Grades in comments, not typically 7. & You just add a Credit Increased Price or Prices to the comments box, stating what the Credit Prices are! & Submitting them both! But the box for the official prices is supposed to be & will always be (by me) the CASH PRICE! Unless they ONLY accept Credit. FAQ explains it all!

I contacted a moderator when we had someone posting bad prices all over the area. It ceased. I think people do make mistakes, I know I did on my first few postings. I had a really nice buddy show me and it helped.

pper: "Gas Buddy told me that the more people who post the more accurate the postings will be."
Over the course of time, that was true. People made mistakes and, yes, there was the occasional duplicating the price post of someone else in order to ensure you made all "points entries", but with the advent of the mobile apps, typing errors have increased, and duplication (if not outright guessing) has become apparently rampant, for lack of a better word, in part (major part) because of the "awards" you can earn from mobile posting, despite no one knowing about your "awards" other than you.
Unfortunately, as said below, the best we can do at this point, barring the mobile apps "awards" being eliminated, is white boarding the culprits and/or notifying the moderators about the abuse, and over-writing the wrong prices with the prices you correctly observed.

This is not wrong if it is properly stated in the price they post.

enter the correct price before the discount... over-ride them
write on their whiteboards about posting the correct prices

Agree completely, I've noticed here locally that folks are not posting the actual prices for the most commonly used 3 stations, they are only guessing at the mid grades and the only 2 that are correct are those on the signs.

I have given up on correcting false prices or attempting to contact the poster.
This site is becoming less useful by the week and day, with the confusing policy of posting the cash price if it is cheaper and all the new people posting false prices. It has especially gone down hill since they released their apps for Android and iPhone.

Do you really think that those people are going to read your thread, your request, in this category? REALLY?
Better that you message them directly and let them know that they shouldn't be doing that or better that you contact the moderators and let them know about the errant price poster so they can inform the member.
