if the company supplied the vehicle, i'll be their employee...
but wit fuel prices going up every year, i don't want that type of owner-operator "job" unless the company pays for fuel use on top of the salary

:::: I wonder if he is a "courier" using a horse and buggy and this is his way of laughing at us gas users.::: Hmmm, when I used to do some courier work, I traveled in a 747 using jet fuel....

Courier? The Amish have such a curious manner of speech, don't they? Next he will be referring to us as the "English". I wonder if he is a "courier" using a horse and buggy and this is his way of laughing at us gas users.

OK, I'll make it a Yes. Sometimes, also I drive as a Process Server throughout California. Well, I try to fill up with brands that I know perform well in my vehicle, at reasonable prices. Valero, 76, sometimes Chevron. I once tried some "mystery gas" in Hemet and the Check Engine light came on 4 miles later. Eventually it shut off after 50 miles of driving so I know it was something to do with the gas (mechanic checked out my truck a few days later and found nothing amiss).

::::Two pages of people posting "no." What a waste of electrons.::: Yup, thats how the boards here on GB are. One word answers , no opinion, no discussions. 99% of the boards here are like this. This is the only message board in the internet universe where people go to the trouble of posting 'no'.

One time as I was driving as a "Courier" of pizza (I no longer do) I had the "Experience" of someone running a stop sign and this "Experience" caused considerable damage to my vehicle, thus causing me considerable loss of income (minimum wage). But I did get to keep the pizza, though all the topping were all over the floor of my vehicle (I just brushed the dirt and such off and scraped the sauce off the floorboard. Almost good as new though a little bit gritty.) I would "Characterize" this time as a "Courier" of pizza as a bit unpleasant (except for the free pizza that night.) Also, I "Found" the best gas stations before my accident from using GasBuddy.com. A remarkable website dedicated to finding the cheapest gas in the country.

Just a suggestion, but as the person creating this topic, but then adding: "What I meant was, "If you have driven as a courier to a distant and unfamiliar city and didn't have a GasBuddy app, how did you find the best gas stations?"
Why not either create a new topic asking the above clarified question (new topic, new original post) which would, I think, lead people to better answer your question (and concurrently ask the moderators to close this thread if you think appropriate), or ask the moderators to rename this thread to what you think would better reflect your question (and perhaps adjust the original post).
Just a suggestion.
But to answer your revised question, I probably didn't find the best priced gas stations. All I would have had was word of mouth and experience of others, and a best guess.

The mature commentators to this post are correct.
What I meant was, "If you have driven as a courier to a distant and unfamiliar city and didn't have a GasBuddy app, how did you find the best gas stations?"
Correct wasn't meaning to bait post hounds!
